How great is your goodness, dear Lord!

Blessed are you for ever!

May all created things praise you, O God,

for loving us so much that we can truthfully speak

of your fellowship with mankind, even in this earthly exile

and however virtuous we may be,

our virtue always depends on your great warmth

and generosity, dear Lord.

Your bounty is infinite.

How wonderful are your works!

You are included in my prayers and this is my prayer verse for each one of you. . .

from 3John1:2: “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” In Jesus Name, may the favor of the Lord be upon you and your household as you fully DELIGHT IN HIS WORDS.

WHATEVER YOU ASK, MAY YOU RECEIVE
WHATEVER YOU SEEK, MAY YOU FIND
WHATEVER YOU WISH, MAY IT BE FULFILLED

I thank God for you! You are one of God’s most beautiful creations!
You are fearfully and wonderfully made and you’re precious in His sight!

Always remember to give thanks to God for He is good and His love endures forever!

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High

To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night

Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery … upon the harp with a solemn sound

For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work …  I will triumph in the works of thy hands

O LORD, how great are thy works… and thy thoughts are very deep.

Psalms 92:1-5

I’ve learned…. That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I’ve learned…. That when you’re in love, it shows.
I’ve learned…. That just one person saying to me, “You’ve made my day!” makes my day.
I’ve learned…. That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I’ve learned…. That being kind is more important than being right.
I’ve learned…. That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I’ve learned…. That I can always pray for someone when I don’t have the strength to help him in some other way.
I’ve learned…. That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I’ve learned…. That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I’ve learned…. That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I’ve learned…. That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I’ve learned…. That we should be glad God doesn’t give us everything we ask for.
I’ve learned…. That money doesn’t buy class.
I’ve learned…. That it’s those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I’ve learned… That under everyone’s hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I’ve learned…. That the Lord didn’t do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?
I’ve learned…. That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I’ve learned…. That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I’ve learned…. That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I’ve learned…. That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I’ve learned…. That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I’ve learned…. That there’s nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.
I’ve learned…. That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I’ve learned…. That life is tough, but I’m tougher.
I’ve learned…. That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I’ve learned…. That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I’ve learned…. That I wish I could have told my Dad that I love him one more time before he passed away.
I’ve learned…. That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.

I’ve learned…. That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I’ve learned…. That I can’t choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.
I’ve learned…. That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you’re hooked for life.
I’ve learned…. That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.
I’ve learned … That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life threatening situation.
I’ve learned…. That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.

Healing

Now that we have gotten through
One more fall
I can just admit I’ve got it all
‘Cause I do
‘Cause I’ve got you
We’ve crossed these battle lines to many times
It passes through the heart
But it never leaves a mark

‘Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn’t there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I’m feeling
Lord I know that Your love is healing

I’ve kicked around those lines in my head
But I’ve never listened to the words that You said
See where it’s lead
Well I know I have it now
‘Cause You showed me how
And all I had to do
Was just to keep my eyes on You

‘Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn’t there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I’m feeling
Lord I know that Your love is healing

‘Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn’t there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I’m feeling

Lord I know that Your love is healing…

Thankfulness

Let us rise up and be thankful,

for if we didn’t learn a lot today,

at least we learned a little,

and if we didn’t learn a little,

at least we didn’t get sick,

and if we got sick,

at least we didn’t die;

so let us all be thankful.

Thank you God…Thank You.

What if I never knew?

What if I never found you?

I never had this feeling in my heart

How did this come to be?

I don’t know how you found me

But from the moment I saw you

Deep inside my heart I knew

Baby you’re my destiny

You and I were meant to be

With all my heart and soul

I’ll give my love to have and hold

And as far as I can see

You were always meant to be

My destiny

I wanted someone like you

Someone that I could hold on to

And give my love until the end of time

But forever was just a word (just a word)

Something I’d only heard about

But now you’re always there for me

When you say forever I believe

Maybe all we need

Is just a little faith

‘Coz baby I believe

That love will find a way

You’re my destiny

The Lord is faithful to all his promises
and loving toward all he has made.

Psalm 145:13

FROM THE FATHER’S HEART
My child, because you are anxious about so many things, I want you to look to My Word for assurance. Remember how I fulfilled every promise I made. Look at My servants Abraham, Isaac, Ruth, David, and a host of mighty men and women throughout Scripture. I love you, too, just as I loved them. As I was faithful to My covenant with them, so I will be faithful to you. I always keep My Word.

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
As I look back over my life, Lord, I see the tracks of Your faithfulness. Sometimes carrying me, sometimes walking beside me, You are always the same. Time after time, even when I fail You, Lord, Your promises remain. You are always true to Your Word. Great is Your faithfulness.

SIMPLE TRUTH

It is impossible for God to break His promises. He and His Word are the same.

Dear God of Compassion,

There is such a hole in our hearts.  Today should be a day of joy, but we feel emptiness and loss.

While the world celebrates around , I remember Christmas celebrations of the past and people long to have we loved We bring our sorrows to You, Lord, like some odd gift of the magi and dump them at Your feet. In our blind tears we wonder if anyone can possibly understand the depth of our sadness.

We know, You can. You sent Your son to be with us in our deepest sorrows and we know that even though we might not feel it now, You are here with us, grieving with us, caring for us in our sadness.

Dearest Lord, help us to turn to the one we miss so much today and speak. Help us heal the loss of our parting and help us not to regret the things we didn’t say. Sorrow tears at our hearts, but today we ask that our  loss soften our hearts and make us more compassionate with everyone we meet, so that our loss may become a gift to others.

Amen.

Braver for Life

God, make me brave for life: oh, braver than this.

Let me straighten after pain, as a tree straightens after the rain,

Shining and lovely again.

God, make me brave for life; much braver than this.

As the blown grass lifts, let me rise

From sorrow with quiet eyes,

Knowing Thy way is wise.

God, make me brave, life brings

Such blinding things.

Help me to keep my sight;

Help me to see aright

That out of dark comes light.
