When was the last time you asked God to do something impossible, something out of the ordinary? I believe that one reason we don’t see God do great things is because we only ask Him for small things. Most people pray over their food, pray for protection, or pray for wisdom. That’s all good, but don’t limit what God can do. There should be something you’re praying about, something that you’re asking for that is beyond you, something that you can’t accomplish in your own strength. Do you dare to ask?

Your dreams may look impossible. You don’t have the funding or the connections, but God is saying,

“I dare you to ask Me to bring it to pass. I dare you to ask Me to show you a flood of My favor.”

Dear God,

There is nothing like the feeling of being loved!

You created us to love and be loved.

I thank you for all the love you have given me and shown me throughout all my days.

Thank you for all the special touches and blessings that let me know you care about even the smallest details of my life and that you love me no matter what.

Thank you for friends who are there for me…

and that I can be there for…through the seasons of life.

Thank you for the love of parents and children and extended family.

I am grateful for the love in my life.

I pray that every person will experience love…especially your unending

. . . . . far-reaching

. . . . . peace-bringing

. . . . . merciful

. . . . . and unconditional love.

This I  pray and offer my whole-hearted love and thankfulness.

Amen.

Rewards

The important thing is not to be bitter over life’s difficulties.

Learn to let go of the past and recognize that everyday won’t be sunny.

And if you find yourself lost in darkness and despair,

remember – it is only in the black of the night that you can see the stars

and those stars will lead you back home.

So don’t be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble, to fall.

Because most of the time,

the greatest rewards come from doing things that scares you the most.

Prayer begins as talking.

Prayer matures as not-talking.

Prayer blossoms as listening.

Prayer is fulfilled as being.

Prayer of Guidance

God, make me brave for life
oh, braver than this.
Let me straighten after pain,
as a tree straightens after the rain,
Shining and lovely again.

God, make me brave for life
much braver than this.
As the blown grass lifts, let me rise
From sorrow with quiet eyes,
Knowing Thy way is wise.

God, make me brave, life brings
Such blinding things.
Help me to keep my sight
Help me to see aright
That out of dark comes light.

O Lord our God, under the shadow of Thy wings let us hope.

Thou wilt support us, both when little and even to gray hairs.

When our strength is of Thee, it is strength

but, when our own, it is feebleness

 We return unto Thee,

O Lord, that from their weariness our soul may rise towards Thee

leaning on the thing which Thou has created

 and passing on to Thyself

who hast wonderfully made them

for with Thee is refreshment and true strength

Amen

Dear God,

may your love control my thoughts and actions that I may do what is pleasing to you.

Show me where I lack charity, mercy, and forgiveness toward my neighbor.

And help me to be generous in giving to others what you have so generously given to me.

How great is your goodness, dear Lord!

Blessed are you for ever!

May all created things praise you, O God,

for loving us so much that we can truthfully speak

of your fellowship with mankind, even in this earthly exile

and however virtuous we may be,

our virtue always depends on your great warmth

and generosity, dear Lord.

Your bounty is infinite.

How wonderful are your works!

I asked God to take away my pride and God said, ‘No’.
He said it was not for Him to take away but for me to give up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole and God said, ‘No’.
He said the body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience and God said, ‘No’.
He said patience is a by-product of tribulation. It isn’t granted, it’s earned.

I asked God to give me happiness and God said, ‘No’.
He said He gives His blessings. Happiness is up to me.

I asked God to spare me from pain and God said, ‘No’.
He said sufferings draw me apart from worldly cares and bring me closer to Him.

I asked God to make my spirit grow and God said, ‘No’.
He said I must grow on my own, but He will prune me to make me fruitful.

I asked God if He loved me and God said, ‘Yes‘.
He gave His only Son who died for me and I will be in heaven someday because I believe.

I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me and God said,
‘Ah, Finally you have the idea!’
